Embarking with Explore Ocean aboard its Atalaya catamaran will be an unforgettable experience

Cetacean Expeditions

More than just a trip at sea, come observe cetaceans in their natural environment and participate in the collection of scientific data for the preservation of these species.

Early in the morning the catamaran casts off to take you into the open sea to meet dolphins and whales in their natural environment.

Our team of observers, photographers and naturalist guides will be your travel partner for this stay at sea.

During this day you will learn about the different species living in the Bay of Biscay, their history, their living habits, their characteristics but also how to protect and therefore preserve them.

As our boat is labeled “responsible whale watching”, we have a respectful and non-intrusive approach, so the observation of cetaceans will be enhanced.

At the end of the expedition and thanks to the data collected during the day, a team will process this valuable information which will then feed the national database of Pélagis (National Observatory of Marine Mammals and Birds).

The end of the day by the water is always a great time to relax with a drink.

We suggest you board our catamaran for an aperitif and a local tapas while following the coast with a view of the Basque mountains. Whether you are with friends or on a romantic outing, this aperitif along the water is the guarantee of an unforgettable evening.
