Orio, unmissable water activities for the whole family

Water sports are another attraction of this authentic village of Guipuzcoa which is renowned for being a pretty fishing village, but also a river port which attracts thrill seekers and fishing lovers every year. Surfing or canoeing, you will have the pleasure of gliding on the waves to the left of Antilla beach, or going down the Oria river at high tide. Guided tours and boat rentals are also offered in Orio, especially in summer, to allow you to enjoy the pleasures of the water, while discovering the history of Orio.

Paragliding is also a very popular activity in Orio!

Orio, a seaside village to visit all year round

Take the time to discover Orio and its old town ( Goiko Kale), an architectural ensemble dating from the 13th century that you can admire alone or on a guided tour. The narrow streets reveal unique houses with their stone facades and colorful balconies that give a particular charm to this historic and medieval heart. The church of Saint-Nicolas-de-Bari is a beautiful example, a Renaissance-style work that was built at the beginning of the 16th century on an earlier church from the 13th century, offering an architectural richness to this historic building. Stroll the cobbled streets that climb in steep steps and take a break to appreciate the tranquility that emerges between the golden houses. Further on, the fishing port is pleasant with boats coming and going, supplying the bars and restaurants with fresh fish that you can enjoy at the table of an assador. These restaurants cook over a wood fire, treating you to grilled seafood to savor on the terrace if the weather permits.
