OUR HISTORY
Maison Jean-Vier designs its products and manufactures some of them in Saint-Pée-Sur-Nivelle, a town located in the Basque countryside near La Rhune. Basque canvas is renowned for being as robust as its people. Originally, it was created to protect the oxen from the bad weather and the stubborn sun of the region. Used as a mantis, it therefore protects animals from the impetuous elements. The seven colored stripes with woven threads represent the seven Basque provinces: Labourd, Lower Navarre and Soule in France, and four on the Spanish side, Alava, Navarre, Biscay and Guipuzcoa. The territory and its symbols are thus woven with poetry. Then, the stripes illustrate the social life of the Basque Country. The colors used mark the membership of emblematic trades: fishing, agriculture and breeding. Finally, our linen is in the image of the Basque landscape: green, red and blue are all primary colors to be used to depict a strong and touching nature. Indeed, the oaks display multiple colors, a shades of green nuanced according to the light beams of dawn. The ocean is agitated in a waltz of ivory foam streaked by an Atlantic blue swell and sometimes a dark gray. This space with powerful faces therefore shapes our creations over time.

Our Basque household linen collections
Maison Jean-Vier creates collections for each season, always with great emulation. Our House indeed offers linen decorated with patterns that bear a joyful and symbolic message. Thus, our ranges of striped fabrics are completed with Jacquard woven fabrics which represent elegant graphics in the image of our environment. You will find at the same time table linen, decoration and accessories, furniture and bed linen. Among our products, we also offer throws made of wool and cashmere, in which you will wrap yourself. The graphics and the color of the threads of the curtains and cushion covers echo Basque culture.
Similar to the art of basketry, Art Deco influences or even the nuances of the ocean, our decorative linen features geometric shapes like precious ribbons. Each fabric is like a decorative adornment designed to create a cozy interior that warms hearts.
In kitchen linen, discover our ranges of tea towels, aprons, hand towels and bread baskets. So many textile accessories that will decorate your room and give it an authentic and warm soul to prepare your meals.
Our attachment to nature and its wild state invites us to produce differently and better: our House is thus launching its very first range of bath linen designed in certified organic cotton, respectful of nature and our health. Our beach linen will also seduce you with its beautiful intense colors and its illustrations woven in the image of the atmosphere of the Basque coast.
