  A New Year's Eve on December 31, 2024 at the Lizarrieta pass with Mikela and Rémy, new owner since July 2023 in their restaurant and guest rooms (Hordago Ostatua) located in the Basque country in a very refreshing natural site 🌳🏚🏚🌞 A starred menu offered in 10 courses with exceptional local products selected from producers in the region and concocted by chef Rémy le Charpentier accompanied in the kitchen by Mr. Paco of Mexican origin and room service carried out with care by Mikela and Matthias head waiter and oenologist. A place and restaurant worthy of being known to major restaurants for the quality of its services both in the kitchen and in the service and the welcome that it exudes. Without forgetting the careful and sober decoration created by Mikela as well as her small welcome pastries which will be offered to you in your room upon your arrival (cookies, macaroons, etc.) Simply in conclusion!!!   We left to hike the Ibanteli peak. Once at the top. We see restaurants below (we obviously realized this thanks to Google Maps 😂) we go down and come across a sign on our left with the menu...it was 1:30 p.m....after this climb a big hunger was obviously there, and on the right 5 meters away another restaurant which seems more for hikers…it was my birthday in a week so my wife took my menu to pay for this restaurant for lunch (the price was not necessarily given on the sign) We like to treat ourselves so we decide to go there...once inside we come across a counter where we are received..."have you booked? and yes like old basic tourists (I'm not denigrating tourists we everyone is one day the other!) uh no!! and then I feel that we are going to turn around with our shoes very dirty with mud while everyone in the room is very well dressed. Once seated at the menu...the prices are frankly not cheap at first glance...so having a limited budget in these times we only take dessert!!! the dishes arrive and there is already a surprise visually!!!dish very well presented which makes you want…the dishes were unanimously excellent, and cooked with fresh and local products…the dessert the same thing…really very very good…good discovery…we will definitely come back..

  The menu is very limited and different from what appears on the internet, few options of dishes. Exclusively French cuisine, no Basque food except cheese. Expensive price quality and few food options. Very pleasant and polite treatment However, I do not recommend it if you are not a fan of French cuisine because you will not even know what to eat. A shame because I think we went with too many expectations and we were disappointed.
