LUZ 26: a very SPECIALIZED ART GALLERY

Galerie LUZ 26 is in its 5^th year of opening. Located in the heart of SAINT-JEAN-DE-LUZ, next to the “BASQUE BAR” opposite the GRAND HÔTEL and the MADISON hotel, its exhibitions attract regulars, but also the gaze of seaside walkers! LUZ 26 specializes in post-war ABSTRACT ART , also called
“LYRICAL ABSTRACTION”, this great pictorial movement carried by the young talents of the NOUVELLE SCHOOL of PARIS who flocked to the BEAUX-ARTS.

There were very many of them, coming from different countries , like certain GI's who remained in France in 1945 and did their studies and their careers there: Bill PARKER, John-Franklin KOENIG, or JH LEVEE are present on the walls of LIZ 26! And if the great “tenors” of this Abstract Art, like Nicolas De STAEL, or Pierre SOULAGES have become untouchable museum artists, many artists have had talent, creativity, and their oils, gouaches or watercolors will meet your expectations as collectors : this is the case with Oscar GAUTHIER, Jacques GERMAIN, Jean-Marie CALMETTES,
Paul CHARLOT, Louis NALLARD, …… and exceptional women like Maria MANTON, Jeanne COPPEL, or Natalia DUMITRESCO!

The LUZ 26 Gallery still has 2 areas of predilection:

• COLLAGES, delicate, difficult art, and you can dream with Arthur AESCHBACHER, the mysterious Anna SHANON, or

the very inventive Raymond PREAUX known as “the Agent”.

• Finally the PHOTOGRAPHY and numbered SILVER PRINTS from the end of the 2000s, with wonderful portraits of celebrities “printed” by Luc FOURNOL, or Jacques DENARNAUD…..without forgetting a detour through the pediments of the BASQUE COUNTRY, and the beautiful images of pelotaris by Polina JOURDAIN-KOBYCHEVA!
