Farmhouse built entirely in stone in 1800 and renovated in 2003; located 2.7 km from the town of Zugarramurdi, 350 meters above sea level and under the slopes of Mount Atxuria (Peña Plata) from where you can make several excursions on foot. The distribution of the house is on 3 floors, we live on the ground floor and, with an independent entrance, are the other two. Outside we find a large terrace with a porch and panoramic windows to enjoy the views at any time of the year.
For us, sustainability is fundamental.
Haitzetxea has been committed for years to creating the most sustainable rural house possible and to do this:- We use heating and hot water production using a pellet boiler (locally sourced).
- We eliminated single-use “conveniences” and offered refillable shampoo and soap bottles.
- We use “Bio” paper cups, eliminating plastic.
- We use an eco-soap for cleaning textiles (Natulim), which is perfectly suited to not contaminating our rivers (with non-polluting packaging).
- We use the most natural cleaning products possible (Tapinet for example).
- We have placed three recycling bags in the office that we reuse.
At Haitzetxea , we have opted, especially in the summer period, for our organic garden in order to be able to offer you quality seasonal vegetables. We do not serve food products from supermarkets that do not respect the environment... we are sorry. We try to offer you the best of our land.
