The town of Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry invites you to discover the history of Lower Navarre and the village through a guided tour.
The visit begins with the Mehaka interpretation center, whose exhibition traces the history of Lower Navarre from its formation at the end of the 12th century, until the disappearance of its institutions following the French Revolution.
We then invite you on a walking tour in the heart of the village of Baigorri, to understand what it means to “live in a village” before the Revolution. You will discover the architecture of the houses of Baigorri, the origin of their names, their social status, as well as the history of the Etxauz castle and the church.
From September to June a guided tour is offered every first Saturday of the month. From July to August, special programming is planned during the week. Information to come.

The Mehaka historic center is free of charge from Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
