An unforgettable experience for young and old, combining history, geology, culture and mythology!
Nestled in a verdant setting in the Xareta valley, just 20km from the Basque coast, the Sare caves are revealed as an invitation to step back in time...
The guided tour of the Sare caves offers an enriching and emotionally-charged journey in the footsteps of our ancestors. It's an opportunity to understand and re-appropriate the deep bond between human and nature that has existed since the dawn of time, a bond that has given rise to our beliefs and cultures.
With free access, a megalithic park and a site museum will allow you to deepen the knowledge acquired during the guided tour.
A protected natural site:
Part of the "Natura 2000" network, the Grottes de Sare site benefits from special protection due to its rich flora and fauna, including endemic species. Among the inhabitants of these subterranean sites, bats sometimes make an appearance!
Outside, a pleasant park lets you enjoy the soothing atmosphere. Picnic tables are available, and hiking trails pass right by the site.
