      ASSETS OF ZUMAIA

      The Flysch cliffs, classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, offer breathtaking views. Zumaia Beach, with its fine sand and waves, is ideal for swimming and surfing.

      In terms of activities, the area is perfect for hiking, with many trails winding along the coast. Water sports such as kayaking and paddleboarding are also popular.


      Zumaia also has an architectural heritage not to be missed, including the church of San Pedro and Basque-style buildings.

      FESTIVALS AND TRADITIONS

      • La Semana Grande : This big festival takes place in August and is marked by concerts, dance shows and sports competitions. It is a time of conviviality and celebration for locals and visitors.
      • The Feast of San Juan is a traditional festival, celebrated in June, that marks the summer solstice with bonfires on the beach, singing and dancing.
      • Basque gastronomy is in the spotlight in Zumaia, with specialities such as pintxos and fresh fish. Local markets provide a taste of regional produce.

      CULTURAL ACTIVITIES

      Zumaia also hosts cultural events throughout the year, such as art exhibitions, film screenings and concerts. You can discover Basque traditions, including Basque pelota, a popular local sport.
