Z Espacio Cultural Museums in Zumaia

Z Espacio Cultural is the museum complex designed in 1910 and inaugurated in 1921 by Ignacio Zuloaga.

On the sandy terrain of Santiago, he replaced the remains of the pilgrims' hospice and the old hermitage from the 14^th century with his studio-workshop, an exhibition hall for the historical collection from the 13^th to the 20^th century and, finally, the chapel of the Way of Saint-Jacques.

The visit begins with the Chapel of Santiago , with sculptures by Julio Beobide and Quintín de Torre designed and polychromed by Ignacio Zuloaga.

Next comes a selection of historical works, from the 13^th to the 20^th century, from the collection of the painter Ignacio Zuloaga , and other works of art from the 20^th to the 21^st century from his grandson Rafael, "The last generation".

Finally, in his studio, oil paintings, drawings, engravings and personal objects of the artist are exhibited.

Z Espacio Cultural is a space essentially dedicated to Ignacio Zuloaga exhibiting selected works from his private collection, complemented by others from the artistic period from the 20^th to the 21^st century.

The objective is to offer the general public and, in particular, young generations interested in the visual arts, a unique collection in the Basque Country, or even in Spain.
