Couteau Basque Artisans, Craftsmen (Visits and Workshops) in Anglet

The Couteau Basque cutlery store houses a unique exhibition in France, presenting French regional folding knives from the 18th century to the present day. The collection numbers no less than a thousand!

Knife historian, journeyman cutler and master craftsman, Christophe will be able to answer questions from collectors and knife enthusiasts who wish to improve their knowledge and/or seek advice.

Because advice is an important part of the characteristics of these two truly passionate craftsmen. Listening, advice and support always prevail in their eyes. Priority is given to the transmission of knowledge.

Also, Christophe's expertise and experience allow him, for example, at the request of a customer, to assess the value of a found knife.

The repair of folding and fixed knives , swords, axes and sabers are part of the work of the Couteau Basque workshop. Just like the renovation of knives abused by intensive use or damaged by the years.

The shop overlooking the workshop thanks to 2 wide open French doors, it is pleasant to watch the cutlery team working on the task in a peaceful and cheerful atmosphere, which smells of the essences of crafted wood!

The team has grown because it now includes an apprentice, Lycia, trained in cutlery for 2 years and preparing for her state diploma.

Visiting the regional knife exhibition is of course free.

The Couteau Basque cutlery will welcome you from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
