Brasserie Zirtzil A local and committed beer cellar

The Zirtzil brewery was born in 2021 in Anglet. It is an independent microbrewery where craft and organic beers are produced. Thus, you can taste blonde, white, amber, ipa and dipa beers.

Since the 2000s, villages in the Basque Country have been reclaiming festive traditions that had previously been forgotten.

Thus, Santibate and Libertimendua are two carnival celebrations of Lower Navarre and Labourd (two Basque provinces). The first celebrates winter, while the second announces the arrival of spring.

Libertimendua is a daytime celebration around dance and pamphleteering theater .

Santibate is, for its part, a nocturnal procession of characters , called zirtzil, masked or made up, wearing torn and disheveled clothes. Rather frightening, they dance and sing along their route through the streets, knocking on the doors of houses and bars. They are accompanied by improvising poets and musicians .
