    • The Jean de Luz cannery was founded in 2003 in Ciboure and then Saint-Jean-de-Luz, the historic cradle of tuna and sardine fishing (the last of the 17 local units closed in 1990).

      The entire team is proud to relocate an artisanal fish cannery to Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
      The fish is bought mainly from the Saint-Jean-de-Luz fish auction, the organic olive oil comes from Tudela in Spain, and the salt from Pamplona in Navarre.


      The Basque Country is the inspiration for their recipes and the anchor of their SHORT, LOCAL circuit, so their recipes are organic, simple and healthy. They are also very lightly salted and 100% natural (with no additives or colorants).

      With the aim of being as close as possible to its customers, the new boutique, located at 16 rue Garat, will enable you to discover their full range of products. You'll also be able to stock up on delicious local delicacies, such as wine from Egiategia, cookies from the Hurmendia cookie factory, etc


      Store open daily: 10.30 a.m.-1 p.m.-3 p.m.-7 p.m.

    Superb store, with a manager who sells these products extremely well! I fell for the assortment. We really fell in love with the lemon tuna terrine (we hate lemon!). A pure pleasure when tasting. On the other hand, huge disappointment for the fish soup. In the store they tell us up to 3 nice plates, there we got just 2 bowls and even then I diluted way too much to have the quantity of 2 bowls... as for the taste, it's so spicy that the palate and the throat were anesthetized. It's really a shame. The only positive point is the saving on heating! The soup heats up from the first spoon!

    True artisans who know how to enhance their fishing and share their passion. Discovered at their beginning, at the Asphodele show in Pau, where I continue to visit them, I am happy to find their products in organic stores. Subscribed to their new letter, they made me want it by marketing tuna belly... Pure joy that I order them, not finding it in stores near me. This belly is excellent for your health, very rich in omega 3 and a pure joy that you can enjoy like foie gras by letting it set in the fridge or, moreover, it keeps very well once the jar is opened (if you are able to not to finish the pot! Only one risk...becoming addicted! No problem anyway because the orders are shipped carefully, without delay and I dare to prepare "lovingly" In short, as advertised on the labels...a country, men, the Basque country! I would add "real know-how" and that tasting their products is certainly forgetting all the others. The best of the sea, in a glass jar 😋👍
